My Daily Digital Ritual

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Daily Ritual.”

After I wake up, my weekday mornings are a blur of rapid activity, then a dash to catch the bus to work. My usual routine and early start leave no time to sip smoothies, hit the gym or do yoga.

My half hour commute is the first part of the day where I have some time, and I use this to tune into Spotify and listen to the Discover playlist. Then, I check social media: Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Reddit is my next stop, having crafted a front page to my liking with news, humour and a healthy dose of adorable animals on r/aww.

The kind of adorable pic I enjoy on my daily commute…

After a few headlines and cute pics, I’ll usually find a decent longread and settle in to read for the rest of the journey. Often, this is an article on The New Yorker (this article on TNY from last week on the lawyer of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was a fascinating read), Salon or the Guardian .

My daily digital ritual makes the commute fly by, and helps me feel entertained, informed and connected to the world.

What is your daily ritual, digital or otherwise?
